'HAIRSPRAY' is niceeee~~ =D









this story is abt:
Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion--dancing. Her dream is to appear on "The Corny Collins Show," Baltimore's hippest dance party on TV. Tracy seems a natural fit for the show except for one not-so-little problem--she doesn't fit in. Her plus-sized figure has always set her apart from the cool crowd, which she is reminded of by her loving but overly protective plus-sized mother, Edna. That doesn't stop Tracy because if there is one thing that this girl knows, it's that she was born to dance.
After wowing Corny Collins at her high school dance, Tracy wins a spot on his show and becomes an instant on-air sensation, much to the chagrin of the show's reigning princess, Amber Von Tussle, and her scheming mother, Velma, who runs television station WYZT. Even worse for Amber is the fact that it's not just the audience who loves the new girl in town; Amber's sweetheart, Link Larkin, seems to be smitten with Tracy's charms as well. This dance party gets personal as a bitter feud erupts between the girls as they compete for the coveted "Miss Teenage Hairspray" crown.
At school, however, a short stint in detention and raised-eyebrows caused by the budding relationship between her best friend Penny Pingleton and Seaweed opens Tracy's eyes to a bigger issue than the latest dance craze or the coolest hairdo--racial inequality. Throwing caution to the wind, she leads a march with Motormouth Maybelle to fight for integration and winds up with an arrest warrant instead. Tracy is on the lam now and goes underground--literally--to her best friend Pennys basement.
Has Tracy's luck finally run out? Will she miss the final dance-off against Amber and forfeit the title of "Miss Hairspray," or will she sing and dance her way out of trouble again?









hahs..actually i copied n pasted the entire chunk of info above frm the net la..hahs..=P anyways..the movie is realli worth watching..kinda dispayed the unfairness of treatment to different ppl in the society..even til today..was so grateful for the storyline which spoke out the voices of those ppl who were being discriminated in our society..bravos to those who wrote the story for this movie! =D


i guess every single one of us are different and unique in our own ways..so..we all muz hav this confidence in ourselves that we are great in our own ways!! dun feel discouraged when someone else gives u the feeling that u are inferior when compared to them..cos i believe that once u hav the self confidence in urself..u will feel GREAT abt urself too =) quoting frm the 7 o'clock channel 8 show.."in order to build up that sense of self-confidence in urself..every morning when u wake up, look into the mirror and say that 'i mux b confident in myself!' " hahs..=)


mayb i shall start chanting "i mux be more confident in myself" every morning..-.-


hahs..anyways this is a musical-kinda movie..so if u had enjoyed 'high sch musical'..u will most probably love this 'HAIRSPRAY" movie too =D

finally i went to the long-awaited dinner at nydc last nite!! =D

intially was supposed to hav dinner gathering with all my aunts they all de..but last min something cropped up so left onli aunt jane, ah wei n me..and den..we decided to go suntec's nydc for dinner!! woo!! so nice la!! jane ah yi knows i wanna go nydc since duno how long ago..so they two 'pei he' me and went nydc with me..wahahaha~~~





i like their menu! kinda kid-ish with all the cute cute pics..but it's nice lor..hahs..=p the food there is alrite..though the meatballs (according to ah wei) isnt that fantastic..hahs..but the pizza is nice! haha..can try next time u go there =) but the most impt part of the entire dinner is their mud-pies!! it's realli realli superb!! =D nice nice nice!! tat ah boy la..keep tempting me..keeping spaming on his blog saying their mud-pies are nice..den make me so tempted! but it's realli true la..their mud-pies are realli wonderful!! hahs..but the price also quite 'nice' la..hahs..but nvm..long long time den eat once..hahs..tks n cheers to ah boy for intro-ing these fantastic mud-pies to me!! =D

sians..had been slacking for this entire week -.-''' so dead~ Zzz Zzz...

anyways..went to aunt rina's house for family dinner gathering last nite..and with the help of aunt tina..the food they prepared can last me for a lifetime!! hahs..there's like SO SO MUCH food!! hahs..frm appetizers (e.g. coleslaw, vegetable salad, garlic bread n etc) to westernised main course (e.g. chicken chops, lamp chops, spaghetti, pizza n etc) to chinese main course (e.g. fried mee hoon, fried rice, vegetable curry n etc) to side dishes (e.g. whipped potato, fried potato patties, fried chicken wings n etc) to desserts (e.g. banana cake, walnut cake, fruit cake, choc muffins, choc coookies -- all home-baked!) to drinks (e.g. coke, cranberry juice, Tiger beer, red wine n etc) and finally to fruits (e.g. pineapple, durians, longans, jackfruit n etc)...i'm realli not kidding when i said that everything they cooked last nite can last me a lifetime!! =p


the best part of everything -- the garlic bread!! they're superbly delicious!! =D



the pics realli do look tempting rite? i realli felt so blessed to b able to taste every single bit of everything..so thankful to them all who had prepared the dinner..it was realli a superb nite! =D but wat i wuld hav to do now is to go burn of all the excess calories i've taken in..-.- jiayou!! haha..=)


anyways i had fun chasing around after my two little cousins last nite too!! it kinda reminds me of my childcare job -.- hahs..=p

anyways..i had already started sch at SIM for abt one week plus le..to tink that i had been complaining abt the 1.5 hrs maths lect in JJ..now in SIM..ALL their lects are like..3 hrs long -.-''' muz realli adapt to this lo..but luckily some lecturers are kind enuff to stop n give us time-outs in between lects for toilet breaks or refreshments break..and yes! SIM do provide refreshmens during lects..mayb tis is a reason explaining their bombastic sch fees -.-

already one week plus there le..but i still didnt realli managed to make any new frens..apart frm the 4 other grp mates in my marketing class assignment grp and a guy fren i knew frm desiree (ex-JJ-ians)..my world in SIM is practically revolving around with miss peiyin..but i'm actually blessed n relieved to hav her with me..at least i am not alone there! hahs..

anyways back to the topic of making no new frens..i tink it's kinda pathetic la..i mean i thought the 1st ting to do in a new sch is to make new frens? i rmb my 1st day in JJ..1st time meeting up with 24 other ppl whom i didnt knew in o5s19..it wasnt as tough it seemed to b to get acquited with all of them..but now in SIM, it's like so hard to go up to someone n ask if we could b frens..it's not as easy as it may sound...it's like..u wun noe wat kind of reaction u will get frm them..they may not even tink of wanting to b ur fren..i guess it;'s becos of having no orientation..everyone is like mingling around with their own sets of frens whom they had already knew before coming to SIM..and every grp (be it jux 2 ppl -- like peiyin n me) will b like sitting together, talking to onli ppl belonging to their grp n not giving anyone else their attention..i realli feel sorry for those ppl who were there on their own on the 1st day of lect..i guess if i were one of them, i wuld hav felt super terrible n horrible -.-

anyways, there will classes allocated for business computing electives..and OMG..i'm in a different class as peiyin..which means..i'll hav to face the clas alone..oh gosh!! hopefully the ppl in my class r friendly enuff to allow me muster up my courage to start knowing new ppl..otherwise..for this whole semester of business computing classes, i'll b like a pathetic loner struggling with this dumby core subject (i'm a computer idiot lo) all alone..drats!! -.-'''

had 4 different elective in this semester..markting principles, intro to accountancy, marcoeconomics n business computing..i had basically went thru the introductory lects that explains wat these things are abt..and i realised that actually...marketing is really interesting!! it's realli true..it may sound like a sales kind-of job..but the content that it covers is not as dry as the dumby econs de..econs sux la -.-'''

another thing i wanna complain is that..the textbooks are like so so so freaking ex la..it's like they had a prescribed textbook for every elective subjects..and if ALL electives need us to hav access to the textbook..jux spending on these textbooks can already burn a BIG hole in ur pockets..each textbook cost abt $50 lo..so freaking ex -.- if u go calculate to total amt i will hav to spend on all the textbooks that i am supposed/encouraged to own..i wuld not even want to tink wat how much they will cost me -.-''' tat's y til today..even though the lecturers had encouraged us to get the textbooks, i had not bought any textbooks yet..hav to tink properly which ones shd i get n which ones i dun realli need..cos i noe that i wuld not hav the capability to obtain all of them..-.-

after starting sch st SIM..i realised that i had limited clothes to wear to sch..it's like..my clothes are either too ugly to come out frm my closet..or they are too formal or informal to b worn to sch..mayb i'm someone w/o fashion sense..i realli admire those ladies i see in sch who can like make themselves so nice (in terms of their appearance)..there's tis ger in sch..whom i tink looks like felicia chin (which peiyin toatlly disagrees! =p)..she will b the one i will source out everyday as i will b lookin forward to see wat she will b wearing..it's not that i'm crazy over her..it's jux that i realli realli amazed by her dress code..she can look so nice today n so outrageous tmr..hahs..=p

the guys in sch..OMG..some of them realli loook damn gay la! hahs..ask peiyin and she will agree with me! hahs..=p tink some of them looks prettier than some of the ladies..hahs..reminds me of the time when i was at bangkok a few yrs ago..-.-

anyways..i finally realised that uni life can realli b quite stressful..it's like when u are being posed with a qn during lect and the entire lecture grp is waiting for an answer that u dun noe..i guess the stares frm everyone can b realli pressuring...and when u realised that u cant realli do wat others are capable of..u will feel that u r gonna fail badly for this elective subject..it's like..i rmb in today's lect..we r asked to write out a business report after reading a case study..when u c that eevryone else around u had started scribbling on their paper and u still dun noe wat to write..u will b like "oh mans..wat's wrong with me?"..and when the lecturer ask out discussion points that we had brainstormed abt..n til den..u still had nothing to say when everyone else had already bombarded the lecturer with the points that they had thought of..the pressure is realli there mans..it's realli there..i felt in today..i felt like i'm so dumb..there's so mani things that other ppl can tink of and i cant even tink of one good one..i realli felt lousy n sians -.-'''

guess wat i realli hav to work on now is to be more confident in myself..making myself confident to speak up in front of others..making myself to hav the courage to do things like going forward n ask the lecturer qns that i dun understand..making myself more confident of my answers to the qns that the lecturer posed during lectures..making myself more confident to make mistakes n learn from my mistakes..

guess that's the way to learn ba..
